Bearsay…Craig NOT GUILTY
April 2, 2009
The jury has found Brandon Craig not guilty of all charges for all of the victims. This means no one will ever be prosecuted now for the assassination of three innocent young people. The other three people involved in the killing have their agreements in place to prevent them ever being prosecuted.
Jurors are reporting that they believe in their hearts Brandon Craig was there and was the shooter but could not say beyond a reasonable doubt he was guilty. Jurors cited the lack of credibility of the three witnesses the state used as their primary case. Jurors could not rely on any of them due to their admitted deception about all facts of this case for the past 10 years.
The only silver lining here is that based on the records of all four involved they will soon get arrested again and sent away for a long time for something else.
Bearsay…can it get any worse
April 1, 2009
A new day. A new embarrassment for our new administration. It just gets worse the more “transparent” our government is. I believe we are seeing now (no pun), why Obama has kept so many secrets rather than being transparent as he promised. Things are very ugly, and now we find out criminal in there.
Attorney General Holder announced today that all charges against Senator Ted Stephens of Alaska were being withdrawn. AG Holder said this was being done “in the interest of justice”. This is very strange since the senator has already been tried and convicted of not reporting contributions. The 85 year old senator having been convicted, has the Justice Dept. in a very awkward position since they have never dismissed charges against someone who had already been convicted by a jury.
Senator Stephens became a casualty of the democrats race to investigate everything going on in Alaska. He was caught in the fallout as they sought to find anything to discredit Palin when she came on the political scene so strong. That famous liberal American term, rush to judgment comes to mind.
The judge for the case says prosecutors withheld evidence from the defense that would have freed Senator Stephens. The judge has been quoted as saying he could not believe it, but the prosecution had fabricated evidence in the trial.
It is interesting to note that the Office of Public Integrity is the one who brought charges against the senator. The Department of Justice now says it is starting an investigation into the Office of Public Integrity.
How long do you think before this will be referred to as something inherited by this administration. I bet on this evening or in the morning. I am definitely liking all this transparency better and better.
Bearsay…bad precedent

The triple homicide case in Alburquerque is starting to make ripples in our justice system. The only way authorities could get enough information to prosecute the case was through the use of felons who had enough hard time facing them they were willing to trade lenghty sentences for information. Also agreement not to prosecute them for their involvement in the murders.
This snitch system is really nothing new. Authorities have made deals for years with criminals who are willing to rat for consideration of a reduction of their sentences and/or no prosecution for a pending charge. The criminals come to the police offering information in exchange for something. Usually what the snitch provides strengthens the case already existing against someone and helps with conviction.
In this current case the police spent years seeking out the accomplices and trying to get them to admit to thier involvement and feeding them bits of information the killers used to respond back to police. The transcripts confirm what they were told during the interviews. One of the witnesses admits on the stand that during questioning he would wait for the police to tell him something before he answered, then he would respond by telling them what they told him they wanted to hear. There was no other supporting evidence.
Other police departments have been paying attention. Eagle, Colorado has announced a new criminal apprehension plan in effect in thier area. Eagle authorities report they have been closely following what is going on in Aburquerque and it seemed they had a good program. Eagle is now running newspaper adds offering money to any snitches who come forward and assist with a conviction. They are particularly interested in people who are currently facing criminal charges. The ad assures the snitch they need not be concerned if they have charges pending, are drug users, known felons, etc.
The ad says if you are one of these types you have an opportunity to make money and strict confidentiality is assured. What easier way for these people to make money now. If I get into any kind of trouble for anything I’m heading for Eagle, Colorado. Get rid of my trouble and pick up a little cash.
Bearsay…Justice update
March 31, 2009
The jury now has the case in its hands. Closing arguments did not produce anything different than previously covered.
Thanks to Maura for correcting some incorrect facts in the original. The brothers I discussed who said they did not have a party were testifying about a different party the Four claimed to have gone to first. When they didn’t find Kevin there they decided to go to the next party where the friends of the dead boys said they did not see them or an altercation that night at the party.
One other item of interest was the cross exam of the lady who said she never saw the Four even though they claimed to have cut the gun up there. She was served a search warrant and police found 2 hand guns and a box of shells. The box of shells was the calibur for the AK47 and was identical to the slugs recovered from the shooting. The box had exactly 24 shells missing. The number fired at the scene. When asked whose shells they were she answered, Brandon’s. This was supposedly someone she had never met before.
Bearsay…something happening here
March 31, 2009
There’s something happening here, what it is ain’t exactly clear…
There’s battle lines being drawn, nobody’s right if everbody’s wrong…
Paranoia strikes deep, into your life it will creep…
It starts when you’re always afraid, step out of line the man come take you away
We better stop now, what’s that sound, everybody look what’s going down.
Stephen Stills, Buffalo Springfield
W0ke up this morning to the news that my America, Home of the Free, had taken over one of our larger corporations. They forced out the Chairman of the company. The owners of the company, anyone owning stock in it, had no say as to what their company was doing. Who’s next? You and your business, or the company you work for? Believe it, it has been done now so no going back unless America wakes up. I am left to wonder more everyday what the supporters of this government are thinking. They are moving to take over your health care as fast as possible, whether you are insured or not.
If you don’t like the way GM is running their business then don’t give them our tax money. If some things have to fail, then they fail. That’s what our system of government and economics is built on. You take care of things the way you should and you succeed, don’t do what you should, legally or morally and you will fail. People will not support you.
It is completely ironic that the opening quote written by Stephen Stills in the 60’s is so appropriate for today. It was the way people of America felt in those times. JFK had gotten us started in Viet Nam by sending in troops to train the vietnamese troops to protect themselves. Along came LBJ and his idea of “The Great Society”. We had the largest expenditures to create programs ever in history. Troops sent to Viet Nam continued to increase until it was a full scale war. This led to the highest inflation this country had ever seen. Even those liberals did not attempt to take over any private enterprises. The irony is it was the people who wanted more freedom and less government that were leading these confrontations in the 60’s. Today it seems the whole thing has turned upside down and the current trend is in favor of this government and them taking over more and more private businesses.
I talked to a friend of mine today and he decided to call our congressman and see just what was going on with the government “taking over” GM. Our congressman is a conservative. My friend was told by the congressman’s office that they knew nothing of this until this morning like the rest of us and are completely in the dark. None of the Republican Congressmen are being asked to participate in any of these meetings.
Something happening here, what it is ain’t exactly clear. One thing crystal clear is this “transparent ” government Obama promised has my paranoia striking deep. Am I and a few of my friends the only ones who feel this has got to stop. I am afraid, very afraid.
Bearsay…Justice, not so sure
March 29, 2009
There was a killing approximately ten years ago on Memorial Day weekend, May 29, 1999. The slaughtered children were Kevin Shirley, Matthew Hunt, and Luis Garcia. All three were just under 18 years of age and good all around high school students in New Mexico.
On that same day four old friends were out for a good time; Brandon Craig, Jocelyn Schneider, Luke Morris, and Jeffrey Moore. The four were drinking beer, smoking weed, and doing a little coke just get good and mellow. They are all admitted drug users who also used meth on occasions. This was their life. They did not hold a steady job, go to school, nor anything else productive with their lives. They sold drugs to the high school kids to make money to buy their drugs. All have records of possession, using, selling, robberies, assaults, and various other misdemeanors to go with the felonies.
Around midnight of that day the four friends decided they needed to get s money to buy more drugs. Jocelyn said she knew where to get some. She told the others that Kevin Shirley owed her $100 for drugs she had fronted him. She also knew Kevin was probably at a party a high school student was giving at his house out on a country road. They headed to the party. When they arrived Brandon, who was driving, parked out on the road and walked up the path to the house to confront Kevin. Kevin told Brandon to screw off, he wasn’t paying him because he didn’t have the money. A very heated argument ensued between the two, then Brandon left the party. He and the other three pulled on down the road, parked and sat there for awhile just drinking and drugging.
Around midnight Kevin decided to go home from the party. Luis and Matthew wanted to get a ride with him. Another boy wanted to ride also but Matthew was a paraplegic and they needed the extra car seat for his wheelchair. The three boys pulled out onto the road and started home. After traveling about a mile or so down the road a pickup truck pulled out across the road in front of them and stopped. Kevin stopped his car. Brandon Craig reached under the seat and pulled an AK 47 . He got out of the pickup, walked to the front of the stopped car and opened fire. He fired twenty four rounds in seven or eight seconds spraying the car. The three boys were all hit numerous times in the face and upper torso. All were dead. Jocelyn, Jeffrey, and Luke were horrified. They never got out of the pickup and had no idea Brandon even had a gun in there with them. Brandon told them if they ever opened their mouth he would kill them too. He then drove them all to the home of a lady named Mercer. She was the girlfriend of Luke Morris’ father. There Brandon ordered them to help him cut the gun up into pieces. They put pieces in different bags and drove around out in the country throwing the bags of gun pieces into different areas of the county….you now have the prosecutions theory of the case based on their only evidence, the eyewitness testimony of their three star witnesses; Jocelyn Schneider, Luke Morris, and Jeffrey Moore.
Now we are in March of 2009 and the trial is finally in progress. Brandon Craig is facing three charges of first degree murder and child abuse since the 3 victims were minors.
How we got here…The four cold blooded killers continued on with their life of crime fueled by drugs. The police were left without any physical evidence other than the bullets pulled from the boys’ bodies and the vehicle. No one else saw anything except for a few neighbors in the area of the shooting. Some of them heard the shots and called 911. By the time they got outside the killers were gone. Some saw a vehicle with its lights off but could not describe or identify it. They could only be witness to the carnage remaining in the car. All the boys were dead by the time they got out there.
We are now learning the sordid details of how we ended up here through the trial of Brandon Craig. There are still some defense witnesses to testify but what we have so far is very disturbing for our system of justice.
The killers continued to get arrested for different things. In 2002 the police had started to hear rumors about the killings but they were still unsolved. Each time they had one of the three other than Brandon arrested they started to pressure them with questions about their involvement and trying to get information on the case. All three continued to deny any knowledge of the shootings, and had no idea what the police were talking about. Then in 2006 they managed to get Luke, Jocelyn, and Jeffrey all in very serious charges. All had run out of rope and were facing 2nd and 3rd felonies which carried mandatory hard prison time, as in up to 45 years. One of them was also going up on a parole violation. The police intercepted a text message about this time from Jocelyn to Luke saying they need to get their stories straight. She said she couldn’t remember it all for sure so they need to make sure they get it all worked our if they are going to tell. All three of these accomplises were given a walk on all of their pending sentences. The DA was able to make that all disappear in exchange for their testimony. In addition to wiping away those sentences they were not charged in any way with the murders of the three boys. All three stories matched perfectly.
The defense has been able to destroy their version of what happened. Jocelyn’s roommate from 1999 testified that she did not even know Brandon Craig then and that she knew Jocelyn did not either. She and Jocelyn hung out doing drugs together back then and she would have remembered. Another friend of Brandon’s said he knew Jocelyn too and that he was the one who introduced them to each other and it was months after the murder. Also note that Jocelyn lived with Brandon at some time after the murders and then he dumped her.
The defense called the boy and his brother who allegedly lived at the house where the party was. Neither of them ever had any kind of party at their house, much less one the night of the murders just down the road. The defense found the lady who was living in the house where they were to have cut up the gun. She said she had never met any of the four killers except Luke Morris. They never came to her house and cut up a gun or anything else. She had never seen them before in her life.
Throughout their testimony the three were caught in lie after lie after lie. They are absolutely the only evidence the DA has. I understand the need to solve something this horrible for a community, even though it is 10 years later. I also have learned enough about Brandon Craig throughout this trial to know he is what could only be called a scum bag. He has no redeeming qualities. The most serious question for our justice system though why three drugged up, cold blooded killer predators are walking away with all felony sentences washed away and no charges against them just because they came up with a good story.
Bearsay…Obamasay, Obamado
March 27, 2009
Obamasay…Bush liar, no weapons of mass destruction. The entire war in Iraq was based on a lie. There was no threat against America there. The war was all a cover to gain control of oil interests and of course to promote success of Cheney’s Haliburton. All about big money. His promise was to end that atrocity and get all our troops home at least by the end of the year. You can easily go back and look at some of his speeches and those of other liberals interested in gaining power again at all costs. This was their platform over and over again. They begged for our support so all these wrongs could be righted. These type of conflicts need to be resolved by diplomacy. If only we had talked to leaders of the world more we could have worked this all out and would have never had to fire a shot. It was all our fault for going forward without trying every possible avenue for a diplomatic resolution. Those people were not our enemy. The enemy was our own fears and blood lust after 9-11.
Obamasay…Bush’s stimulus plan a wasteful squandering of America’s and her taxpayers’ assets. Our economy could not stand the fallout and would be bankrupt. His plan called for cutting taxes, and getting money back in the pocket of the regular folks. The wealthy banks and individuals would have to sacrifice for a change. Us normal folks rule now and we will prosper. Everything Bush’s administration had done was for the rich and ignored the poor and middle guy. We will balance that budget within a year.
Obamado…announce we are going to wipe out Al Quaeda. We must send in more troops to Pakistan and Afghanistan. Four thousand will go to Afghaniston to “train their troops to be able to fight their own fight”. Have you ever heard that one before? You can go all the way back to JFK and find that one used over and over again. He repeated several times this would not be simple or shortranged. It will be very difficult and take a long time. He will also be sending many more troops into Pakistan. These two contries are being corrupted by Al Quaeda violence and taking of the government’s money. Therefore we will send 1.5 Billion a year for the next 5 years to Afghanistan. How does that not translate into us financing Al Quaeda? He says we persued Al Q. for 6 years in Iraq and “did a good job”. Now we will continue the fight into a couple more countries. His budget plan will require a large increase for the defense portion. This is the budget plan that is already in the largest deficit ever in our history. Our peace and security depend on us persuing this conflict to eliminate Al Quaeda. “That was NATO’s plan 8 years ago and is our same plan now.” That my fellow American is a quote.
Obamado…add more and more to the stimulus plan Bush started. More to banks and the rich for bail outs. Balanced budget going more and more into debt. No possible end in sight for possible balancing. Unemployment is growing more than it ever has in history. Mr. Obama has adopted the Bush plan and just keeps doubling and tripling it. The president is clueless and has no idea what kind of trouble he is in. It is becoming more and more obvious he is in way over his head and does not have the advisors needed to help him make any kind of plan. Community activism
just does not qualify one to lead the most powerful nation in the world.

Bearsay…the letter
March 5, 2009
Dear Mr. President:
I want to personally thank you for all you have done for me recently. I had become somewhat irrelevant since my party is out of power. I have been shouting the same old rhetoric for years. Many people listened to me but many would lose interest hearing the same old thing over and over for years. Not to say I didn’t have a fairly good following though. If you had not been the magnificent person you are I probably would have faded more in the coming years. You have single handedly resurrected me to one of the most powerful and well known persons in this country. I have even been noticed on a more worldwide basis. You have elevated me to have equal footing with you, the most powerful person in the free world.
We all know old W and the presidents before him had way too much class to ever acknowledge a heckler like me. You have acknowledged me and even addressed me directly. You have come down to my level and that’s what it’s all about if someone like me is to succeed. I understand you even have someone in your adminstration specifically designated to plan your strategy of how to deal with me. I would have thought with all the serious world and national crises you would have been working on that. Yet, you found time to get down here with me. I like the way you are trying to set me out as a leader of my party. Of course my party nor any of it members would take the bait on that one. They learned long ago that someone elected by the people of this country to serve them makes a big mistake when they try to take on their critics. You can’t prevent them from exercising their right to free speech. Such tactics will always end up like this one. I kind of see us toe to toe pushing our finger into each other’s forehead and saying,”are too”, “am not”……
That was W’s and the others problem. They were just too classy an act to let themselves get pulled into something like that. I am reminded of the great success of the Dixie Chicks. They made those personal comments about W that got them a lot of attention. What did W do? Nothing. He kept on doing what the people elected him to do. And what about those Chicks? You may have notice they faded into oblivion. Their own peers turned on them. They tried a few comebacks but nobody’s buying anymore. They are now just a memory. They tried to write that protest song but it fell on deaf ears. People like them and me are nothing unless you make us into something. You can understand now why I felt it necessary to write this letter and thank you for placing me up there where you are or is it you down here where I am. I just wonder if a person thought to be so eloquent as yourself has a particular phrase come to mind. ” I screwed up.” Classy.
Your NBFF,
Rush L.

February 24, 2009
We are not a nation of cowards as the president’s new attorney general says. We are a nation of hyphenated cowards. It is not fear of discussion of racial issues that keeps us separated. The AG’s speech and suggestion is a precise example of why America is not an ethnic melting pot. He urges Americans to use “Black History Month” as a time for discussions of racial issues. If we are to ever be as one then we must all become Americans. The very nature of what is happening in our country is racially divisive. There are no Americans, only hyphenated Americans. Every ethnicity wants to set itself apart from all the others. They must be recognized as Black-American, Latin-American, Asian-American, etc., etc. There are no more Americans. How are we going to melt? Do away with the setting apart.
He wants to have these discussions during Black History Month. Is that not divisive in itself? Why do you need a Black History Month if your not trying to set yourself apart? The rest of us just have history all the time, as Americans. Why do you need a Black Miss America if not to set yourself apart from everyone else. I think you still don’t get it. You may have been trying to say something useful and may have a good point. Your credibility was lost though when you decided Black History Month was a good time for it. Anytime would be a good time for it. You have the racism philosophy so set in you it probably never occurred to you a wedge was being driven a little deeper between us by your suggestion. This is the “racial stalemate I’ve been stuck in for years”.
Every hyphenated American here has some type of persecution in their background somewhere if you go far enough back. We do not set ourselves apart because of it. We thank God we have this place to be and a place we can thank God without fear. If you really mean it and are not a coward yourself, then drop all the hyphens, drop all the self-created recognition platforms for a specific hyphenated group, and become an American.I think you are a coward to step out there on your own without an NAACP behind you. Prove me wrong and step out front as an American Man. You get it?
